an aptitude question i came across:)

this question was an SMS forward and i thought i could share it with you:

2@3=8
3@7=27
4@5=32
5@8=60
6@7=72
7@8=??
(@ is some function)

your job:
1) find what the function "@" does.
2) the answer to the last relation

    1) function @ means [(first digit +second digit )*first digit ]-first digit

    [(2+3)*2]-2=8
    [(3+7)*3]-3=27
    [(4+5)*4]-4=32.
    [(5+8)*5]-5=60
    [(6+7)*6]-6=72

    hence answer is 98
