Out of nowhere, Kindle Fire became one of the fastest selling device in 2011. Amazon had the perfect timing for its launch during the holiday season. There was a time when Amazon was even selling #-Link-Snipped-# and that does speaks a lot about the demand and likeliness of consumers towards the tablet.

As of now it hasn't been much of a competition for Apple's iPad but soon it might be one. Before the launch of Kindle Fire, there were leaks suggesting two different variants of the tablet, one of them was codenamed 'Coyote' and the other was 'Hollywood'. But we only saw the launch of 'Coyote' with dual-core processor named Kindle Fire. But 'Hollywood' could have taken the competition up to iPad as it was supposed to carry Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
But don't be disheartened Kindle fans, 'Hollywood' could well be on its way towards the mid of 2012. Chad Bartley, an analyst at Pacific Crest raised the sales forecast of Amazon with expectation of a 9-inch variant of Kindle Fire. With #-Link-Snipped-#, the mid-year launch for new Kindle would be an interesting decision by Amazon. Whether or not it is obvious that the new Kindle will be available cheaper to compete with the new iPad. So this news can be a waiting game for many consumers as they decide whether to go for iPad or wait for the new Kindle Fire.
