Alienware X51 Desktop; Gaming Experience Inside Smaller Case

After the acquisition of Alienware by Dell over five years ago, the brand has been delivering the best gaming experience possible to the gamers around the world. With their series of notebooks and desktops over the years, they have pushed the limit of portability and power of gaming to a new extent. And now they have come up with a new model, Alienware X51, which promises the Alienware experience in a smaller form factor.

The X51 is way compact in size than regular gaming desktops and its form factor even competes with the size of Xbox 360 and PS3. The case of X51 is a bit larger than PS3, measuring at 95 x 343 x 318mm. The rig packs in Intel's 2nd generation Core processors with NVIDIA's GeForce or GTX series GPUs. Some other features include USB 3.0 ports, Blu-ray drive, 7.1 channel sound card and HDMI 1.4 port. The X51 can be upgradeable to higher configurations with the cost escalating to new levels.

The overall design of X51 has not taken any surge from the regular Alienware fashion. The cabinet has a matte black finish with three customisable lighting zones resembling the Alienware Aurora. A new feature of this rig is that it can be placed in any position, that is either vertically or horizontally. It also includes applications from Alienware Command Center for customising according to user's needs.

Along with the introduction of X51, the company has also introduced a new service, named the Alienware Gaming Services, which will be offering gaming related services like performance optimisation, In-Game Troubleshooting. Overall the new gaming rig introduced by Alienware is a definite powerhouse and gamers looking to free up some space from their table top or getting their CPU alongside their TV along with their consoles now have a great option.

The official specification sheet is as follows:

[*]Intel Core i3 dual core processor (upgradeable to i5 and i7 CPUs)
    [*]Intel H61 Chipset motherboard
[*]1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 545 graphics (upgradeable to GeForce GTX 555)
    [*]Up to 8GB DDR3 RAM
    [*]1TB internal storage (at 7200RPM)
    [*]Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
[*]240 Watt Power Supply (upgradeable to 330 Watt)
