The Active Park Assist is highly popular among customers owing to its hassle-free approach to find a parking space. The system once installed, enables you to park your vehicle without even touching the steering. The Ultrasonic sensing system automatically calculates the distances of nearby vehicles and makes space for itself. Most importantly, it avoids any damage to your or surrounding cars.

It is perhaps the first time that any car manufacturer has provided an in-built parking system. With #-Link-Snipped-#'s active park assist, all you have to do is to press a button to activate ultrasonic sensors. This transfers the control of car to the system. However, even in this situation, the driver is still in control of gears, brakes and accelerator. When the system finds a suitable space, it facilitates smooth "Hands free” placement of car.

Comparatively, parking has always been a concern for customers and car manufacturers. It is not long back that Fraunhofer University identified it and led the development of #-Link-Snipped-#. This being a solution for Parking lot, might be considered in conjunction to Active Park Assist. Meanwhile looking at the popularity of Park Assist system, Ford has decided to introduce it in its model Ford Kuga.
