Project Abstract / Summary : The objective of our proposed methodology is to provide a mean of communication for visually challenged through Brain Phone Interface. Here the neural signals are used to control the mobile phones for hands-free, silent and effortless communication.In our project, the neural signals of the brain from the temporal area are tracked using EEG sensors. The required features are extracted from these signals (feature extraction). These signals containing required features are digitized .When the user need to operate the phone,the EEG headset detects this signal by answering the questions asked via headset in the form of Yes/No , alphabets, numbers through brain commands.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : Even though the technology has reached its ultimate,it is still in its basic steps on BCI.Till now there is not a perfect means of communication for visually challenged. Even at times of emergency,they require help externally.The design that we have proposed involves the concentration of individual for recording the required signals.By doing so,they can make their own communication without any interruption.In future it will be a suitable mode of communication for visually challenged.
