Autodesk 3D Printer To Demonstrate Open Source Platform 'Spark' Soon

What happens when the Autodesk CEO isn't feeling so good about the present 3D printing scenario? Well, he build one of his own. Autodesk has announced the launch of its open source platform for 3D printing known as "Spark" and the other is a new 3D Printer that shall demonstrate the use of Spark. With a goal to make the 3D printers more reliable yet simpler to control and print 3D models, the company that specializes in developing engineering software, is taking the software approach and here to set a new benchmark in the 3D printing arena. Carl Bass, Autodesk President and Chief Executive Officer wants product designers, hardware manufacturers, software developers and materials scientists to come together in exploring the new dimensions in 3D printing technology.

Autodesk is making Spark as well as the 3D printer's design available for free and it is open to all. Right from the use of different materials to making modifications to the manufacturing process, Autodesk wants to revolutionize the scope and extent of 3D printing business. While the company has promised that both the Spark software and 3D Printer hardware will be available to public "later this year", over the next few month we will see Autodesk working with hardware companies to integrate the Spark platform with current and upcoming 3D printers.
