Yu Yuphoria Arrives On Amazon India For Rs. 6,999 To Compete With Xiaomi Redmi 2
Micromax subsidiary YU has unveiled the Yuphoria Android smartphone at a glittering function in New Delhi. The highlight of Yu Yuphoria is its metallic body that is available in Buffed Steel and Champagne Gold colour variant. Unlike its principal rival (Xiaomi Redmi 2),the Yu Yuphoria offers Android Lollipop experience with Cyanogen OS 12 at the same price of Rs. 6,999. Yu knows that the Indian audience prefers a bigger screen and that is why it has stuck a 5inch display with HD (1280 x 720) pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass protection. If you ask us the Redmi 2 shall fare well in the display department because it has a display with higher PPI owing its smaller 4.7inch screen. Interestingly, Yu has stuck the same chipset that is found on the Redmi 2. We get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM 8916 chipset with a 64-bit A53 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 306 GPU.
Same goes for the camera on the rear of the Yu Yuphoria. We get an 8MP rear sensor with LED flash. In the front however things change drastically as we get a much bigger 5MP sensor with 85 degree wide angle lens. While the Redmi 2 has 8GB of internal storage, the Yu Yuphoria doubles that figure and leaves 12 GB for the user and adds the obligatory 32GB microSD card slot. Yu has concentrated on the audio quality of the Yuphoria by adding AAC technology complaint unidirectional speakers with Wolfson Pure Audio technology. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB and Wi-Fi. Yuphoria has a 2230mAh battery which is a just a notch bigger than the Redmi 2 battery but an addition of 30mAh capacity will not make much of a difference in day to day usage. Qualcomm Quick Charge technology has been included to ensure that the battery can be charged from nought to 65% in 45 minutes.
Just as its big brother the Yu Yureka, the Yuphoria will be an Amazon India exclusive and you have to register for the first flash sale that starts on 28th May at 2pm.
