Yahoo Services To Block Access Via Google Or Facebook Login Credentials

If you have been using services from Yahoo by logging in using your Facebook or Google IDs, that will have to be stopped soon. A spokesperson from Yahoo Inc. has shared that the company will be soon blocking access to its many online services, via third-party login credentials. This will make it mandatory for users to access some of the heavily used apps such as Flickr (the photo sharing portal) or Fantasy Sports using a Yahoo! ID. This is a strategic move that comes to Yahoo! under its chief - Marissa Mayer's leadership. The CEO is trying her best to bring back the dead spark in Yahoo's apps and services and take the company's revenue to a better place.

Yahoo! will be rolling out the 'mandatory Yahoo ID to access' change gradually over the next few months. Yahoo believes that by using its personal access IDs, they will be able to offer an unified and personalized experience to all. The new sign-in process will first become necessary for Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick'Em, a service developed for the NCAA college basketball tournament which begins in March end.
