Yahoo! had announced Marissa Mayer (a long term Google associate) as new CEO of Yahoo!

This was a shell shocking decision to appoint her as CEO of the company when she had not spent a lot of time with the Yahoo!

Now the question in front of world would be how long she can sustain as CEO of the company considering that she would be the fifth CEO in last five years. She need to restore the energy in employees; need to remind them about their ability to innovate; repair their market image with advertisers and customers. Most importantly she need to inject the energy into the depleted work force; she have to resore the belief in the baffled workforce that are bruised by the continual layoffs.

Will she be able to do all of these, and that too with such a impatient set of Board of Directors??

Former Google employee, in fact, Google's first ever female engineer who remained loyal to Google until few hours ago has joined Yahoo as Chief Executive Officer. What's more important is - Yahoo's confirmed that she indeed has a degree in Computer Science. Few weeks ago, Yahoo's CEO had to resign because his resume faked a degree in CS.

Marissa Mayer played a very critical role in Google and it's no doubt that the rival Yahoo's in safe hands now. Marissa had no room for growth as she already enjoyed the very senior positions in Google for years.

Do you think Marissa Mayer will save the Yahoo's Titanic from sinking?

Had read so many times about Marissa Mayer. Aged 35 something, she is such an extra-ordinary inspiration. I can only imagine the responsibility she will be carrying on her shoulders after going from the biggest successful company to Yahoo, the company whose revenue has receded in the past few years as companies like Google and Facebook Inc. have siphoned away users and advertising dollars.
Yahoo certainly has made a good choice! 😀 Let us look forward to really great products from Yahoo.
