Xiaomi Mi Band – HRX Edition With 23-Day Battery Life Costs Rs. 1,299
Currently you are spoilt for choice when you are looking for a fitness tracker for less than two thousand rupees. You have the Lenovo Smart Band HW01, the Intex Fitrist Cardio and the Fastrack Reflex but sadly they never stood a chance against the Mi Band 2 from XIaomi which was the most sought after fitness tracker in India until it became permanently out of stock. Xiaomi has revived the Mi Band 2 in the form of Mi Band â HRX Edition in partnership with the HRX lifestyle platform which belongs to Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The Mi Band â HRX Edition is much cheaper than the Mi Band 2 with its introductory price of Rs. 1,299.
The Mi Band â HRX Edition costs Rs. 1,299 because it misses out on the heart rate sensor which was found on the Mi Band 2. Some critics are calling it a good riddance as the Mi Band 2 was often plagued with firmware upgrades which produced erratic heart rate measurements. The Mi Band â HRX Edition looks just like the Mi Band 2 except for the protruding heart rate sensor and the addition of an HRX logo on the buckle. The Mi Band â HRX Edition has the same OLED display and can track your steps, distance covered and calories burnt. Xiaomi claims that the Mi Band â HRX Edition has improved tracking algorithm which filters out unnecessary movements to give you an accurate step count. Until the product is released to the public we are not commenting whether itâs actually better or not.
The Mi Band â HRX Edition comes with a 23-day battery life. We are not sure if it uses the same battery as the Mi Band 2 as the technical specifications link on the product page is blank. If we had to make an educational guess we would think that removing the heart rate sensor has resulted in a longer battery life. The Mi Band â HRX Edition is rated IP67 dust and water resistant. This is a major advantage over all other fitness trackers in this price bracket. The Mi Band â HRX Edition hooks up to your Android or iOS device with the help of Bluetooth 4.0.
The Mi Band â HRX Edition will go on sale on the official Mi website and Mi Home from September 18th. You can also buy a Blue replacement strap for your Mi Band â HRX Edition for Rs. 229. E-commerce websites like Flipkart, Amazon and Myntra will get the product two days later on September 20th. The Cult Fit website will also host a preview sale from 18th to 20th September. If you are a Mi Community member and have garnered enough Mi Tokens you can redeem them for an early access F-Code which will let you buy the Mi Band â HRX Edition from today. Once you buy the Mi Band â HRX Edition you can post the order screenshot on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #MiBandHRX to win a Mi Bluetooth Speaker Mini.
