World’s First Hydrogen Powered Formula One RaceCar Competes @ Silverstone
Delft University of Technology's racing team Forze has developed the world's first hydrogen fuel cell-powered Formula One race car recently entered into competition with hundred other petrol powered cars at the Silverstone circuit in the UK. This annual Formula Student event has 132 teams participating from different universities across the globe. Amongst other noisy engines, Forze team's green car gave a quiet, yet successful performance.

This Forze V racing car features a fuel cell that powers its electric motors. Though, this fuel cell has a capacity of generating 24 horsepower, but this racing car makes the motors regenerate and store extra energy during braking, which gives a power boost of 80 horsepower. Sustainable mobility is surely making raves towards a green future and with this green car reaching 0-60 miles per hour in five seconds, with a top speed of 75 mph, the team is surely building a great eco-friendly solution. This race car stores a tank full of 600 grams of gaseous hydrogen. And an hour long range at fuel speed with the refueling taking only a few minutes, this car has all the reasons to make the team-behind-it feel proud. We like it.
