With Doorbot Keep Salesmen At Bay By Remotely Checking Who's At Your Door

#-Link-Snipped-#

You've just got comfortable on your couch and the door bell rings. You hate getting the door, but you still drag your feet to it only to find another annoying salesman selling doormats. And you spend 10 minutes telling him you don't want one. Well, now you have Doorbot to your rescue. It will not only keep those salesman at bay, but it will be your new eyes and ears for getting the door even when you are not at home.

The concept of a Doorbot is nothing but a doorknob with a built-in camera which gets activated once your caller rings the bell. You have to keep an app on your smartphone, which displays an alert when someone’s at the door. From this app, you can choose what to do with the visitor - View the video feed, Unlock the door remotely (if you got the integrated service with Lockitron), or simply speak to the person at the door. (Quite handy when you are getting something delivered back home and you are at work, isn't it?) We love the product. The team behind this project is looking for some funds at Christie Street, and they expect to ship it starting in July 2013. You may pre-order a Doorbot now for $169, or the Lockitron bundle for $319. The video they've put up is cool too. See -
