Windows 8 seems to be going tight on Security and has added another feather to its cap with the idea of storing passwords in cloud. Passwords saved in cloud kill the possibility of mishandling of one's personal data even if the owner get locked out of the system. Windows 8 supports safe storage of username/password combinations using newer and stronger techniques for protecting one's digital identity.
Protection of digital identity is a pressing issue with one person holding as much as 25 accounts to his name. Keeping a track of all 25 passwords becomes a difficult task for any individual. Reports show that only 6 passwords are unique across those 25 accounts. Methods like Phishing, Brute Force, Cracking and Keylogging are commonly used to hack passwords.

To improve the security of critical data, Windows 8 has followed two approaches. The first is by offering a way to automatically store and retrieve multiple account names and passwords for all the websites and applications we use, in a protected manner. For example, Internet Explorer 10 uses the credentials that we store to remember names and passwords for websites we visit, with due permission.
The alternate way to go about this is #-Link-Snipped-#. This gives us the ability to sync the credentials we have stored to all of the Windows 8 PCs that we register as our âTrusted PCs.â With this method, Windows sets a password for each account to something that is both complex and unique. Since Windows 8 will automatically submit the credential on the owner's behalf, there is no need to remember the password.
