Wind Lens
Project Abstract / Summary : An optimum aerodynamic design method has been developed for the new type of wind turbine called wind lens turbine. The wind lens turbine has a diffuser with a brim called wind lens by which the wind concentration on the turbine rotor and the significant enhancement of the turbine output can be achieved. The design method is based on a genetic algorithm and a quasi-three dimensional design of turbine rotor. The quasi three dimensional design consist of two parts:meridional viscous flow calculation and two dimensional blade element design.The project is to convert the wind energy into electricity by reducing the large wind mill into a small one. In the two dimensional rotor blade element design, the turbine rotor blade profile is determined by a one dimensional through flow modelling for the wind lens turbine & a two dimensional blade element theory based on the momentum theorem of the ducted turbine.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : As the resources is going on decreasing the non exhaustible resources should be used more and more now. Its should be also affordable to all so we are working on it and also helping it to implement in smart cities,etc.
Project Highlights : We are innovating the new generation of electricity by wind lens and making it portable so that each can afford it in future and can generate its own electricity.Due to global warming also the earth's temperature is going on increasing so to reduce it we should stop using coal oil etc to reduce pollution and use wind, solar etc to develope electricity and reduce pollutants from air and also by implementing it in smart cities their is no need of buying electricity form mseb. so our project is more important and have spend our entire 2 years to work on it and make it successful theory into practical.
