why P-type wafer is made for IC fabrication?

i want to know that why the wafer is made with P-type semiconductor , we can use a insulator subtrate , or any other material for base ,, what is the advantage of using P-type...

    well p-type substrate consume less power and fabrication of IC is simple as compared to n-type semiconductor
