Why do we have Déjà vu's and other related things?

I have several questions to ask that have intrigued me a lot..!
-What's the best explanation for the phenomena Déjà vu(why and how does it occur?)
-Why do our dreams end up becoming true sometimes?(how's it possible?)
-Do we really have the power to see the future?
-Eventhough we are skeptical to a fortune teller's words, it turns out to be true sometimes..! How? sheer stroke of luck?

The best explanation I have is that sometimes the parallel Universes cross. But that's just about the Dega-vu. Other questions can lead to separate debates.

Dreams don't come into reality on their own; unless you're super-lucky.

parallel universes? So, perhaps time travelling will be possible in near future if this parallel universe theory is true?

    Deja Vu
Dr.V.Ramachandran, the well known neuro-physician, describes this in the 9th chapter of his book,'Phantoms in the Brain'.

Simple Partial Seizure (SPS) involve small areas of the temporal lobe such as the amygdala or the hippocampus. The term "simple" means that consciousness is not altered. In temporal lobe epilepsy SPS usually only cause sensations. These sensations may be #-Link-Snipped-# such as D%C3%A9J%C3%A0 Vu (a feeling of familiarity), Jamais Vu (a feeling of unfamiliarity), a specific single or set of memories, or Amnesia. The sensations may be auditory such as a sound or tune, gustatory such as a taste, or olfactory such as a smell that is not physically present. Sensations can also be visual, involve feelings on the skin or in the internal organs. The latter feelings may seem to move over the body. Psychic sensations can occur such as an out-of-body feeling. Dysphoric or euphoric feelings, fear, anger, and other sensations can also occur during SPS. Often, it is hard for persons with SPS of TLE to describe the feeling. SPS are often called "auras" by lay persons who mistake them for a warning sign of a subsequent seizure. In fact, they are actual seizures in and of themselves. Persons experiencing only SPS may not recognize what they are or seek medical advice about them. SPS may or may not progress to the seizure types listed below.
The feeling that 'I have gone through this before' may be due to a partial seizure. Happens all the time to many. There is no need to be alarmed by the quoted text.

    Dream Actualization

One such is not a dream at all. It is something that you are passionate about and will go to any length to realize. You may dream about it. But it is the only reality for you. Without it there is no you. Such a passion will become a reality. I do not think that you are asking about this.

I had lost an important key once. It just could not be found anywhere in the rambling old house where we used to live. Highly disturbed I went to an uneasy dream studded sleep. I dreamt that the key was in an old medicine box in an unused cupboard. The next morning I went to that box and found it there. One can give an Extra Sensory Perception explanation. However, the scientist in me thinks of a more prosaic explanation. I had looked into that cupboard earlier to look at an old balance used by my great grand father in compounding medicines. Unknowingly I must have dropped the key into the box. My subconscious mind had recorded that event and brought it out as a dream under the stress of having lost that important key. Nothing supernatural about it.

    Future visualization

Sorry, but I do not believe in such.

    Astrology

The astrophysicist Dr.Jayant Narlekar, conducted a blind test of a group of astrologers from Maharashtra on a simple astrological prediction, which is well within the accepted capabilities of horoscope reading. The test disproved the predictive ability of astrology for the question asked.
Here is himself giving his views. (In Marathi though)

Let me a narrate an incident.
Once I dreamed, now this is the thing that I don't remember. I dreamed it or it just flashed in front of me. I was sitting in my cet coaching classes, thoroughly bored. Then suddenly i saw that I am sitting in the same class ,same sir but different students, different subject, and I was sitting on another bench. Then when I came back to my senses I wasn't able to understand what happened. It was just for few seconds, but was very clear. As it happened I joined the same classes for my engineering 1st year. And then came a day when I was sitting in that particular class and suddenly it happened. I realized that I experienced what I had seen before. I had forgotten what I saw the previous year, but when I experienced in real the thing I saw, that day,I remembered,I was shocked and surprised. Everything was perfectly the same as my dream. I don't know what and how of it. No explanations at all.
I believe that you should behave with everyone the way you want them to treat you. In short what goes around comes around. So I wouldn't dare to lie or make up such kind of story and treat it as truth, the same way I won't like someone else doing it with me. So Its not an imaginary story Ceans, it really happened.

i read it somewhere that humans generally don't remember dreams once they wake up. Incase they do recollect their dream, those are their sub-conscious thoughts which are thought about when someone is sleeping.
I think this is similar to sleep talking/sleep walking - you just dont remember if you sleep walked/talked unless and until someone shooks you up.
Dejavu is a familar phenomenon though.
If astrology is to be believed - with all due respect to believers, so can spirit games be believed in :-s.

I certainly didn't doze off. I was sitting on 2nd bench. What I don't remember is if I saw that in CET class or in dreams when I was asleep. I wish I knew why did that happen. Anyone has any answer to it?

It's more probable that You must've seen it in your dreams..! 😀 But if you insist, Your experience is rather interesting and queer..>! 😀 I seriously do not know why You Had it..! 😀

Same. Incidents like these have happened with me several times when some situation in my dream gets realized at some point of time in future...

am not certain why,but according to numerology..deja vu is usually a premoniton or some kind of pediction of the future...numerology in itself is a science and as much as the idea seems 'out of this world'...it is an idea as well

I was about to start a topic on this, but then found out about this one. I've had an experience. Wouldn't call it a deja vu, but an intuition that something was bound to go wrong.

    My incident:

I got 3 days together as leave during Christmas, and I was skeptical whether I should go home or not. I had already spent a total of 10-days-as-sick-leave just 4 days prior to this leave. Although my home is just a 2 hour drive from Kochi, I was in a dilemma (being the loner that I am usually). But then, another factor that pulled me to go home was the fact that my parents had come for vacation from Kuwait and it was actually their first Christmas back in our home in India after about 20 years - so naturally one part of me wanted to be the part of it. But the other part of me kept thinking about spending time in Kochi itself with my friends.

I decided to play the coin-toss game. I don't really believe in this technique, but just (most of the time) I actually use this trick to get through difficult dilemmas. So I decided - heads meant I should go home, which tails meant the opposite. I tossed once, and it was tails. I have a belief (which is the common saying in our place). It's said in malayalam as 'onnil pezhachal moone' (which means that if you fail on first attempt, you'll find success on the third). And to my bad luck, all three tosses lead to tails. Now this would mean that I should not go home. But I decided to go anyways, keeping my parents in priority over to my desires.

The end result: I lost a toe nail in a scooter-centre-stand accident back at home, and now I'm suffering for it.

P.S.: I might not have mentioned, I've just undergone a major surgery to remove both lower wisdom teeth just 10 days prior to this incident, and the pain has not yet healed, neither have the stitches fallen off.

P.S.S: Sometimes I feel nature does try to speak to us.

Everyone know here that Sherlock and Mentalist (Kieth Berry) uses their deception capability to solve a problem.
What if, it's our subconscious mind which uses deception to give Deja vu to us.
