WhatsApp Imitates Snapchat To Bring New Camera Features On Android App

Until now when you need to doodle on pictures in a messaging app, you relied on Snapchat. From today you will be do the same on WhatsApp if you are on Android. WhatsApp has added several new features to its Android app. The most notable one is the ability to customise your photos before sending them. When you take a photo with the WhatsApp or select an existing photo from your smartphone’s gallery you will be able to see new editing tools. You can doodle on the photo, add your favourite emoji and even add text and customise its font style, size and colour.

If you have a smartphone with front flash then good news, the WhatsApp’s inbuilt camera supports front flash option. If you don’t have one then do not fret, WhatsApp will automatically increase the brightness of the display to add a little bit of extra light in low light and night time. You might have noticed that WhatsApp currently misses the ability of zooming in and out while recording videos, not any more though. You can slide your finger up and down to zoom in and out of the video while recording.

The new features will be rolling out to Android users from today and iPhone users can expect to see these features sometime in the coming months. There is no information when Windows Phone users or Blackberry apps will be getting these features.
