What's the actual meaning of innovation?

Many of us would have used this word without knowing the apt or original meaning of innovation .
Innovation is not what which helps people to be comfortable but it was which make people to work safely in dangerous places or which can help people by reaching spots which cant be reached by ordinary people.

My question was whether now all the innovations were done for comfort of people or safety of people?
We explore many news feeds but most of them related to comforting innovations.
Should we really reconsider the innovating methods and the reason to innovate?

We definitely lack innovations in the arena of safety.There were only limited innovations related to safety.How is it possible?

Most innovation these days depend on market demands and current consumer perceptions. Can't be helped much. If you have an innovation that has marginal improvement in safety but at the huge expense of aesthetics or comfort, you'll find limited markets for it. But if something happens, like a legislation or event that ignites societies needs for safety above others, then innovation will follow accordingly.

Of course, if the innovator is not driven by economics but just for social/environmental contributions, then theres nothing to stop them 😀

We want governments to give more offer to students and innovators who really propose good and possible solutions for problems.

If you talk about innovations then there is one thing, Ideas. But nowadays ideas do not come cheap. You have to pay for them. There comes in Business. When you start a business, there comes laws and system. There comes in politics. In todays time, no matter how good an idea is, your competitors will do anything to take you down. So innovations as you want to describe exists rarely.

Innovation is simply a idea which makes existing device work differently and with lesser input from our end. Input can be money or energy and stuff

If this is not the case if our idea is too cumbersome to implement in a fixed rate Then it is not innovation
