What happened to the old forums / sections on CrazyEngineers?

Almost all of our veteran CEans have asked this question. Allow me to describe the change and why it was introduced.

The older CrazyEngineers carried a legacy 'forum' design - something that originated back in 1999 - 2000. While all the regular members got used to it, all the new members would write to us saying that it's difficult to navigate the site.

New users had to navigate their way through sections before discovering new content; which they often found confusing. We decided to change it to something more straightforward.

Forums / sections are now 'Topics'

We've clubbed all the 'technical' sections into one topic called 'Technical', Others, into 'General', 'Gadgets / Software' into its own section and so on. We wanted to reduce the count of sections and keep them distinct.

You can see the results immediately. New questions have started flowing in and new users are asking them!

But I'm only interested in "specific topic" like "Robotics" or "Java Programming" or "Civil Engineering"

Don't worry. This will be handled through a special new app. While we've not finalized the name yet, let's call it "Groups". All our fellow CEans will be able to create their own groups or join existing ones (some will be official groups). These groups can have all the like minded people discussing all the relevant topics.

We'll discuss this in detail, later on. But be assured, lot of interesting things are coming on new CrazyEngineers!
