Urgent help needed.
Thanks in advance.

The opamp can be used to amplify dc & ac input signals and it was designed to perform mathematical operations such as addition , subtraction, multiplication, differentiation & integration, so it was named as 'operational' amplifier.Sanyam KhuranaBut why this word operational?

And that's what I told, when examiner asked this question, may be he was not satisfied. 😯Abhishek RawalThe opamp can be used to amplify dc & ac input signals and it was designed to perform mathematical operations such as addition , subtraction, multiplication, differentiation & integration, so it was named as 'operational' amplifier.

That is quite right. An op amp has defined precision for operations. Its out put is modified by the operation performed on the input in specified manner.Abhishek RawalWell you should've added that : along with mathematical operations, opamps are also used for ac-dc signal amplification, active filters, oscillators, comparators & regulators.

the operation means that the various operations for which opam is used these specific operations are as follows addition, substraction, compaision, differentiation integration and many more the normal amplfier just amplifies the input but by opan we can perform many operation on them.Sanyam KhuranaQuestion is self explanatory, need to know what does this operational word mean in Operational Amplifier, and what are advantages of using Operational Amplifier, as other systems can be applied to perform tasks that Op Amp is used for, like summing , integration, etc. of two signals..
