I have been to load dispatch center recently. There they monitor everything using scada. Whether it is possible to control using scada. For example. To trip a coil?

They might be using SCADA for some parameter monitoring and it can also generate signal which can be used to trip coils.

When I questioned the employee over there(load dispatch center), he said we are doing only monitoring, not controlling. Why its so? In scada technique , we cannot control ah?

Don't know about their exact application but i think you can control any devices.

It was said using Scada they cant control , it is used only for monitoring purpose.
    Anyway thanks.😀

SCADA essentially means Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. In practice, different parameters can be controlled through hardware (PLC,relays, etc) or software (SCADA). SCADA can be used to trip a coil, although forcibly, or even to set some parameters for different logic groups in the schema. And the beauty of it is that all this can be done in real time. Although great care is needed while changing the parameters using SCADA as the logic applied through software can result in some unexpected changes in hardware.
For eg, great care is to be taken while starting motors etc via SCADA as the contactors can remain in forced on position even if it is not energized after forcing them off via SCADA. In the load dispatch center the guys were just monitoring, it may possible that some parameters were initialized during the first run off of the process. During that "first run", those parameters may have been set. So essentially they were actually controlling them in the first place.

Using SCADA, we can control data in real-time while monitoring the load but there their employee necessity might be only to monitor the data.
