    with what material is the well foundation made of ? For Eg. The well foundation in taj mahal is made up of wood , which is destabilizing due lack of moisture , due to drying of yamuna . But if a well foundation is made up of RCC , then water would play a deteriorating role right ?

    Also , since a well foundation is hollow from inside , so does it remain hollow , or is it filled with some material.

    in indian railway bridges etc , well foundations are more common than piers , so which material is filled in these well foundations (indian conditions) ?
