    Hello
i keep on wondering how to determine Capacitor values for input and output of a voltage regulator
for instance , right now i'm using 7809. the datasheet and the engineers around me are giving me different values for the VR input C and output
for instance some say for input
    330N ,
    0.1u
    output
    10u
    1N
    100N

unless there is no definete mechanism \ formula \theory on this
just the bigger capacitor the better ?
