Volkswagen Polo GT TDI Price In India, Tech Specs And Features At Glance

Volkswagen India, the German car manufacturer, has today launched its compact hatchback Polo's new variant - the Volkswagen Polo GT TDI. Powered by the 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that features a max power of 77 kW (105 PS) and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Offering the fuel efficiency of 19.78 kmpl, the new Polo GT TDI comes in 3 different colours - Candy White, Flash Red and Deep Black Pearl and is going on sale from today.

As we look at the Volkswagen Polo GT TDI tech specs, on the outside, there's "Estrada" 185/60 R15 alloy wheels and Halogen headlamps with black finish. The galbanised body is adored by the “GT” Chrome front grille. The interior has some nice features too. Users get a two Din RCD 320 music system with USB, Aux-in, SD Card, Bluetooth and 4 speakers. There's a multi-function leather-covered steering wheel which is speed-sensitive, remote control central locking, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear parking sensors and Lane change indicator.

"We are committed to bringing in the latest and the most efficient vehicle technologies to the Indian market," said Arvind Saxena, Volkswagen passenger cars managing director.The Polo GT TDI has been created to cater to the requirements of discerning customers, who want the best possible mix of strong power delivery, outstanding driving dynamics and class-leading fuel efficiency, he added. "With this latest addition to the Polo range, which now includes the Polo GT TSI, Cross Polo and Polo GT TDI, Volkswagen now offers Indian customers with unique motoring solutions for their specific requirements in the hatchback segment," the company said.

For the safety and security of the user, there is ABS (Anti-lock brake system), Dual frontal airbags, Electronic engine immobilizer with floating code, Pinch guard safety for all 4 power windows and Front disc brakes on the tech specs list.     Following are the outstanding features that could lure customers towards VW:

    • ABS, Dual Airbags,
    • Mileage of >19kmpl,
    • Alloy wheels.

    But if the price is slashed to some level,VW could stir some competition in Indian Market.

    To answer your question,It is certainly a "Yes".
    With a whooping power of 105PS and 250Nm torque and a fuel efficiency of >19kmpl, I dont think there are competitors for it.

    @#-Link-Snipped-# : Indeed Volkswagen's TSi engines are a masterpiece. 105ps and 250 nm for a hatchback is monstrous. VW claims a top speed of 195 km/h which is great for a sport hatchback. Indeed the comfort features as well as the ergonomics of the car is brilliant but it misses some of the features like keyless entry, rear AC vents, child safety lock but the driving dynamics and the thrill you feel when you have such a powerful engine under the hood will surely be awesome. What bothers me a bit is the mileage in city because this engine uses a combination of supercharger and turbocharger. although this approach is excellent for enhancing performance by elimination of turbolag and increasing the volumetric efficiency, but at lower speeds and continuos gearshifts in city, the engine might drink up a lot of fuel at least in India where smooth running traffic is difficult to find. In my view, this car is a brilliant package and those who love to drive, its a boon for them. The new Honda jazz may be a competition for this, but rest of the hatchbacks in India give this VW no threat. Thumbs up for this new wonder.
