Volkswagen Jetta Facelift Details Out - India Launch Happening Soon

Popular car manufacturer Volkswagen is about to add a new sedan in the Indian market. The company is expected announce the Volkswagen Jetta Facelift on February 17. The sedan will come as Complete Knockdown (CKD) kit and would be assembled locally at Volkswagen factory, near Pune. Though, there’s no official word about car’s specifications, leaks are already out for the same. The new vehicle would be giving good competition to models like Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence etc.
Leaked specifications suggest that the dimensions 4659 X 1778 X 1453 mm are unchanged in the latest model. Exterior changes include new front alloys, new alloys, revised bumper, two piece tail lights and bi-xenon headlamp with DRL. The interior changes are three spoke steering wheels, music player with 6 CD changer, AUX-in and 8 speakers, fatigue detection system, six airbags and ABS. the design has been re-engineered for improved performance which also lowers overall dag by 10% and also reduces overall rolling resistance.
Jetta Facelift would be available in both petrol and diesel variants in India. Petrol model comes with 1.4L TSI with 4 cylinder that can generate 122PS power at 5000 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1500-4000 rpm. Customers would have this option with 6 speed manual transmission. The diesel model comes with 2L TDI that delivers 140 PS power at 4200 rpm and 320 Nm maximum torque. The diesel model would be available in 6 speed manual and automatic transmission. The mileage of petrol variant is claimed to be 14.69kmpl whereas that of diesel model with manual transmission is 19.33kmpl and 16.69kmpl for automatic. The price for Jetta Facelift is expected to start from Rs. 13.5 lakhs.
