Following some of the big Chinese manufacturers in electronics like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo, Gionee, and Huawei, another Chinese handset maker Vivo is expected to enter Indian market soon. Vivo, a brand of BBK Electronics, is set to launch Vivo X5Max on December 15 in New Delhi. The brand new Hi-Fi smartphone will be launched on December 10 at Shenzhen Concert Hall in Shenzhen. It is touted that the phone will break the record of OPPO R5 as the world’s slimmest full high-definition smartphone. The sleek Vivo X5Max is expected to be about 4.75 mm thick. Earlier, it was also rumored that the smartphone will be 3.75 mm thick without camera bulge.

According to the certification information, Vivo X5Max will have 5.5 inch Full HD display screen. It is yet not confirmed whether it will run on Android 4.4 operating system. The dual sim smartphone will be powered by 1.7 GHz octa core Mediatek processor. Coming to the storage, X5Max will have 2GB of RAM, 16 GB built in storage, and the external memory can be expanded up to 128 GB via micro SD. Speaking about the camera, the users will be able to capture their memorable moments as it is expected that Vivo will be offering 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. As far as connectivity is concerned, the X5Max will support 4G TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA. It is anticipated that the smartphone will have inconceivable design as 90 % of the internal components may shift to the sides of the screen.

According to the financial express, Vivo has tied up with Viacom 18 Media, now a part of Reliance Industries, for marketing 4G handsets in India.

With its unconventionally slim form factor and a super sleek design, the phone is sure to cause a lot of heads to turn. If the performance is as sharp and crisp as the design of this phone, then this handset is a definite buy. Please let us know your views about this new smartphone in the comment section below.

This is indeed quite impressive. What's next? Paper thin, rollable smartphones?

Since price was the one of the major things not leaked before the launch, we now have the official word.

The Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched the X5Max, measuring just 4.75mm in thickness in India at Rs 32,980.
