VIT ties up with Pennsylvania state university

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) from City of Pune has entered into an academic collaboration with the Pennsylvania state university's college of information sciences and technology (IST), US, to facilitate a unique student transfer programme at the under-graduate level of engineering studies.

"The collaborative programme will enable students to complete the first two years of their B.Tech. studies at VIT and the remaining two years at the IST to obtain a baccalaureate degree from Penn state university," said Hemant Abhyankar, vice president, Vishwakarma Group of Institutions.

The best advantage of the tie-up is that students completing their final two years from Penn state will get the US varsity's degree, which will facilitate their post-graduate masters studies in US without the requirement of exams like GRE and Toefel.
The students will also have the option of seeking paid jobs (limited up to 20 hours/week) on campus, if available and if students meet the federal government requirements about eligibility to work on campus. They can also complete a paid IST Internship (wherever available) after their first year at the Penn state.
