Virtual Graphics Tablet project idea

I'm a 4th year student in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering field and I have an idea to design a virtual graphics tablet as my final year project.
The idea is such that the drawing should be picked up from the virtual space using video. I still haven't figured out how to do this. It is open to everyone to give in your own ideas and let's find out the best way to implement this.
