Velkess Energy Storage With Flywheel

A new kickstart project initiated by Bill Gray, called 'Velkess Energy Storage' aims to employ new type of flywheel to store energy. The project description says that Gray and his team are developing a flywheel technology that will dramatically reduce the cost of energy storage and offer clean energy. The project is about construction of a magnetic bearing and motor assembly. The Velkess's technology employs a flexible shaft with the flywheel - which allows natural dynamics of the rotor and redirects any stray energies into stabilising counter forces.

How are they solving the eddy current problem with the obviously-PM-type magnets, I wonder
