    Antivirus is business bro.
Most won't believe but is how it goes :
The company who are make Antivirus software is the same company who create virus & spread it through internet.
Say,there are two teams one who create virus & one who find way to be immune to that virus definition.
This ain't conspiracy theory, THIS IS BUSINESS.
Have you wondered why one specific virus can't be removed by x antivirus but will be easily removed by y antivirus ?

And then there are other viruses, created by hackers to penetrate the security & to do bad things ๐Ÿ˜‰

Edit : Panda is great OpenSource AV.

There are several people who use pirated software. People will always discover ways to reverse engineer stuff and gain an unfair advantage. It all boils down to ethics though.

If you don't want to pay for an anti-virus software, there are several high-quality open source alternatives available. Check out our old discussion thread dedicated to selection of best free anti-virus software: #-Link-Snipped-# . I hope it helps.

You friend is pirating and that is against law. If Antivirus company want he can be booked against cyber law.
But the fact is software companies rarely take against personal users. Only incidents I remember has been taken against xoxo , some video site and a major torrent site like Pi**teBay (but it is still functional from other countries)
Problem is using cracked software, you can never be ensure that your data is not stolen. If you have sensitive data, that you can't afford to hack. You must use licensed version.
    Otherwise its your choice.
If your concern about antivirus, Microsoft Security Essential is a fully functional free antivirus and does great job.

I think there nothing like foolishness after using a paid antivirus. Any pirated thing are always bad, which spoils the industry and increases the uncertainty.

The cracking groups also have some dignity(atleast the genuine ones)and before releasing any crack they ensure it is not going to stole your data or something.(how do i know?been there, done that)
although there are some infected cracks who do steal your data. ๐Ÿ˜€

Cracks or fake serial keys generally expire after few days. So you need to search for new ones after few days again and again. Sometimes they are shown malicious by some antiviruses and sometimes not. If you have time, then play this hide and seek for life but you will not get the satisfaction of the genuine one. If you have imp data on your pc, then encrypt it using bitlocker or other imaging sw and put a strong password. Also create a system image in case you got affected. Use whatever antivirus, some day you are going to get infected. Use common sense.๐Ÿ˜€

i am using Kaspersky internet security 2012 and before that KIS2010 and my system is last formatted on july 2010 (when i have started using it) since then nothing by bass my security, and believe me i wander to darkest corners of internet where you can get some serious infections,i moderate gamehacking.com where every 2nd trainer posted is infected and it's my job to download and run on my pc before approve it,and every third day some network attack is detected by KIS,so no you do not going to get infected some day,if you are not stupid.

and most of the antivirus shows about this crack and keygen are flase +ve,because they don't want you to use that, just try to write a simple app using function GetAsyncKeyState() of user32.dll and check every single antivirus treat it as keylogger.

And again no you don't have to search cracks everyday, because that's what kids at 10th standard do,not the people who called there self CS engineers, there are permanent solutions.

and if i have to, encrypt my files,i'll rather use my own chain encryption app that uses almost all block cipher algorithm of .NET's cryptography library and then first compress it then upload it to some where online like Adrive.com,or dropbox and also have a backup on disk, but only if i have to.

Ok. There was too much "me" and "I" involved in that. Forget it. "Aal is well".๐Ÿ˜€ You are too much patriotic about Kaspersky. The best antivirus software topic is subjective in nature. So no need to fight over that.
Now you are right about the methods given. Antiviruses are just dumb codes. They look for patterns. And if you dress like terrorist and have a gun then you are a terrorist according to them. Also many phd people are working to lesson their dumbness and they are getting success too.๐Ÿ˜€
Now the third point. Everybody can't know everything. I have seen CS engineers working in the industry who are afraid of pointers and still don't know the concept in detail.
I mentioned applications because the creator of this thread will get benefit from them if he is not genius like you are. I am not getting paid by them. I just mentioned my point of view.๐Ÿ˜€
Also do take into consideration that the dbs of reputed security firms also get hacked. So if there is permanent solution , then what's the need for updates and new version each year?๐Ÿ˜€

Yup "All is well" indeed ๐Ÿ˜€ neither i wanna be in "who is the best anti-virus jargon" it's endless, and i am no GENIUS sir thanks by the way,i was just saying it's better to use personally coded encrypter(only based on pre-existing cipher algorithms) because whenever a popular software involve there are chances to get cracks and deciphers very often, and by permanent solution i mean the 'cracks' ๐Ÿ˜
