unmanned fuelling facility

Project Abstract / Summary : In current days the petrol stations are operated manually. These petrol pumps are time consuming and require more man power. To place petrol stations in distant area it’s very costly to provide excellent facility to the consumers all these problems are sorted out by the use of unmanned power pumps which requires less time to operate and it is effective solution and can be installed anywhere the customer self going to avail the services, the payment is done by electronic payment system.

Recognizing that the basic need of the customer is ease of availability of fuel. We are aiming to prepare the system which will allow the user to fill fuel on his own without the necessity of the attendant. The system ‘petrol pump automation’ will take care of the billing and operate the fuel pump by taking the input from the user and performing mathematical calculations with the help of the microcontroller. The microcontroller does the work of checking fuel and makes the motor ON through relay for the required amount of time.

These petrol stations easily monitor with the system users over the time by a central control unit. We are also able to fed data into the computers for having the database of multiple users. We are trying to develop the new integrated systems, retailers have a reliable method of verifying cardholders that will free them from the worry of being liable for fraud carried out with stolen cards. This will inevitably lead to an increase in the number of unmanned pumps and fast lanes”.

Why did you choose to work on this project topic : Today almost all petrol pumps have a controlling unit to perform the tasks like managing the electrical pump, drive the display, sense the flow level & accordingly turn OFF the electrical motor. But still a person is required to collect the money.
This project aims at designing a system to eliminate this human interaction so that there is no need of workers to fill the petrol. In this system all drivers have a smart card called as PETRO CARD account. This Petro Card account can be recharged at RECHARGE POINTS. At the Petrol Pump the driver swaps the card, the petrol pump is equipped with a smart card reader/writer. The smart card reader reads the amount in the card & is displayed on the LCD. The driver then enters the quantity of petrol that has to be filled. The corresponding amount is calculated & deducted from the PETRO CARD.
Today’s consumers are living fast life and are more demanding than ever. Consumers want more choices, more speed of work and more convenience. Consumers are reluctant to use time consuming petrol pumps and pumps with outdated features and are searching for petrol station all over the place.
To upgrade market we need a dispenser that is reliable, user- friendly and ready to increase our profitability. We need unmanned petrol station. Designed from the ground up, this flexible, dependable and scalable fuel dispenser will meet our needs, today and tomorrow.
It could be the world’s most consumer-friendly fuel pump. It has the easy operated ATM type of machine. It have a very to use interaction system which facilitates the user to interact with the system, the inputs to be provided according to instructions in the LCD display. This is one of the ways which allows the client to fill up the vehicle tank at any time of the day even when there is no attendant. This is also provided to customers at no added costs.
