  • Big players like Samsung and Nokia aren’t the only ones surprising the world with their high-end devices. This UK startup named Kazam has announced its octa-core phones at MWC 2014. The company with six Android phones have named its latest devices as Kazam Tornado 2 5.0 and Tornado 2 5.5.

    Tornado 2 5.0

As the name suggest, it has 5-inch screen with 720p display. It is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core processor. The device has RAM of 1GB and internal storage capacity of 8GB with a microSD card slot for expansion. Currently the phone will run on Android 4.2 version but one can expect it to be upgraded to KitKat. It packs an 8MP primary camera and 2MP secondary one. This one is expected to be cheaper than 5.5 version.

    Tornado 2 5.5

This is another device announced at MWC, and it’ll have 5.5-inch IPS screen with 1920 by 1080 resolution and full HD display. Similar to 5.0 device, this one is also powered by octa-core 1.7 GHz MediaTek processor. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage with microSD slot. The striking 13MP camera on the rear and 5MP on the front is another feature that gives it a upper hand. Upto 7.5 hours of talktime is possible with its 2500mAh battery.

Kazam is a tiny UK based company founded by two former HTC execs in May last year. Michael Coombes, CEO of Kazam was excited during launch of its second range of phones at MWC. The company is planning for£200 price tag for Tornado 2 5.5 version and will be selling both the devices throughout Europe.

At this price, would it give a competition to Google Nexus 5 which is priced at £299 in UK? What do you think of these phones? Do share your thoughts in comments below.

@#-Link-Snipped-# Well, its not just you, I've read that people have heard this name first time at MWC 2014! This company didn't exist at the time of MWC 2013.
