Tulalip Leaked Accidently - Microsoft’s Answer To Google+?

Microsoft accidentally gave an insight into what they intend to do with their latest buy: #-Link-Snipped-#. The company recently leaked a page on socl.com that showed Tulalip, a social networking and search engine site’s sign up page. The move was interesting and became more suspicious after Microsoft admitted that the leak was accidental and it was just a display page of small internal project the company is working with socl.com. This clearly confirms that the mystery buyer of socl.com (valued close to $5 million according to some) is none other than Microsoft. In addition, Microsoft’s plan to launch a new social and search engine has come just when netizens are getting accustomed to Google+. Microsoft’s ambiguous plan to launch Tulalip is sure to create ripples when it already has its search engine bing.com working pretty good.

Microsoft joining the league?

Microsoft quickly removed the page and now, one gets a message on socl.com that says, “Thanks for stopping by. Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web. We didn’t mean to, honest.” What Microsoft intended to do with this “leak” is unclear and discussion forums are abuzz with all kind of theories. Initial views tell that the users will be sign in to Tulalip by either Twitter or Facebook account. The users of Tulalip will able to socialize and search simultaneously. This seems interesting considering existing sites fall under two categories: Social Networking sites and Search engines. Therefore, Tulalip says you can do both thinks being under one roof. Tulalip seems more like a social networking management tool, posting tweets for the user.

For now, we can just wait for more official news from Microsoft regarding Tulalip, site named after group of native Americans near Redmond, Washington where  Microsoft Headquarters is situated.
