Track & pair your socks - not by smell but with RFID & app

We know that for most of you, tracking socks is easy and you can do so easily; but for the rich people from Switzerland, there's an #-Link-Snipped-# tag coupled with a mobile app to do that. Switzerland's BLACKSOCKS has a socks subscription system which mails new, premium Italian socks to the subscribers by mail periodically. But now the company's taken a step ahead in luxury - by making the socks smarter. It's added an RFID tag to the socks and developed an app to tell you some 'critical' data about your socks like the history of the socks, number of times it's been washed, whether it's for the left or right leg, ID number etc. It can also help you locate its partner in case it goes missing. Boy! Rich people surely don't have time to sort their socks. They've got dollars to count.

Samy Liechti of Blacksocks calls these socks 'Smarter Socks' (we frankly aren't aware of 'smart' socks yet). You'll get an iPhone app along with the subscription - a starter kit containing 10 pairs of calf-socks and scanner for only $189. We told you, it's for the rich people in Switzerland.

But we like the innovation part of it. Sorting of socks is always a pain and it's difficult to find the correct pairs, especially if 8/10 of your socks are all black. We'd like to ask our readers whether they'd like to offer any alternatives to fixing the problem. Go ahead, be creative!
