Toshiba Encore 2 Write Tablets With Digitizer Pen Option Announced At CES 2015

At CES 2015, the Japanese manufacturer Toshiba has introduced the new Encore 2 Write tablets. The 8-inch and 10.1-inch tablets are priced at $350 and $400 respectively and both sport digitizer pens with Wacom TruFeel technology (having 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity) which helps users in taking notes, for annotating photos and performing similar interesting tasks.
As far as the specifications are concerned, both the Encore tablets are powered by Intel Atom processor and run on Windows 8.1 with Bing. They come with 2GB of RAM, 64 GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card and one year subscription to Office 365. The device flaunts an 8MP rear camera and HD front web camera. The connectivity options include microUSB 2.0, microSD support, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Both the tablets are rated for 11 hours of battery life and 8 hours of video playback.
Apart from all these features, both the tablets come pre-loaded with three apps: TruCapture, scans newspaper clippings or other printed text and use character recognition to search for keywords. The TruNote app can be used to paint, jot down important points and everything a note-taking application can do, while the TruRecorder app recognizes different voices in a conversation, break up the recording according to who’s speaking and then playback the individual voices.
