    okay... This is a doubt i had last year i mean in 11th
    Wenever my uncle calls me and we chat der is a time lag.... About 2-3 secs he stays in dubai
    But when my sister calls me der is no time lag and she stays in macclesfield u.k
    At 1st i thought uncles stays far away dats y bt den my didi stays farther away so y ders time lag in dubai and not in u.k??
    My uncle said his call plan is a cheap 1 so i am wondering what is the difference???

    Your uncle uses a VOIP service - Voice Over Internet Protocol, where internet is made use of for making a call. But your sister is probably calling you by telephone service.

    Latency of your uncle's call is governed by his internet connection's characteristics like bandwidth and ping. Usually such data has higher latency than a direct telephone call which means 'lag'. So when your uncle calls, the sound lags a bit.
