If you've been following the FIFA 2014 World Cup, you must have noticed that the magic foam that the referees spray around the ball or draw lines with. It disappears after a while. I decided to find out what it is and found an article on GEEK that explains it.

The foam is actually pressurised butane + water. When released through the can, the foam expands and then evaporates in a few minutes. The foam allows a time-span of about 2-3 minutes for the players and the referees to do their job.
