After a well-documented and a highly ridiculed launch of the new Macbook because of its lone USB port, the latest Macbook has given us one more reason to get laughed at. It is no secret that most people who purchase a Macbook also install the Windows OS on their Macbook either on a virtual machine or by making their device dual-boot. Apple is well aware of this need and it provides its users with Boot Camp- a multi-boot service that assists users in installing Microsoftâs Windows OS on their Mac machines. The bad news is that the Boot Camp of the latest Macbook has no support for the most popular Windows 7 operating system.
Latest figures indicate that despite Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 being out in the market for quite some time, Windows 7 is the most popular OS throughout the world. Windows 7 was released way back in 2009 but still has a greater adoption rate than Windows 8 and 8.1 both combined together. Experts suggest that the reason for this is the simplicity and absence of excessive embellishment in Windows 7.
Unfortunately, for unspecified reasons, according to Appleâs #-Link-Snipped-#, it has removed its support for the most popular OS in the world. The latest Mac device that allows the installation of Windows 7 is the 15-inch Macbook Pro which was launched back in mid-2014. It is an important point to consider before buying the latest Macbook.
The new Macbook will only support the Windows 8 and 8.1 and will probably work with the upcoming Windows 10. The reason for probably is that as you can see in the screenshot above, Appleâs site doesnât mention anything about Windows 10. However, since it has the support for Windows 8 and Windows 8 users can freely upgrade to Windows 10, it is highly probable that the Boot Camp will be compatible with Windows 10.
