treating both as services companiesKaustubh KatdareOutsourced Product Development => Services. Some companies just like to be identified as specialists in 'outsourced product development'; and what they basically do is 'services'. There are very few 'real' product development companies in India and getting in them is very difficult - because product development is a different ballgame.
So, you can be sure that both companies will offer similar kind of work. Your friend should decide the company on the basis of -
1. Proximity to home.
2. Size of the company.
3. Salary.
4. Relocation required or not.
5. Perks
etc.

Ask your friend to go through these threads and understand what kind of jobs are offered. Once your friend has a better idea about the kind of jobs; he'll be in a better position to determine.
It all comes down to what your friend is interested in. Both jobs are equally good; in my opinion.

Agree,Kaustubh Katdare@#-Link-Snipped-# - It's 'Outsourced Product Development Company', not just a 'Product Company'. Those are two very different things. The company that says they are 'outsourced product development company' is basically into providing services.
