#-Link-Snipped-# That is a big topic.

AMOLED stands for - active-matrix organic light-emitting diode.

An AMOLED display consists of an active matrix of OLED pixels that generate lightupon electrical activation that have been deposited or integrated onto a thin-film-transistor (TFT) array.
This array functions as a series of switches to control the current flowing to each individual pixel.

In non-technical terms - An AMOLED display integrates a capacitive touchscreen layer directly into the display instead of overlaying it on top of the display, as has traditionally been done.

This results in a thinner design (that we crave so much) that uses less power and reflects less light, and as a result works better outdoors.
Are you sure? This action cannot be undone.
