This new technology adds novel finger-based touch gesture features to the underutilized spacebar in order to boost the productivity and speed.     The feature-rich SmartBar can be used for quick text editing by selecting the whole word, either in forward or backward direction, in the document. This is done by simply swiping a single-thumb on it. Second in the list is effortless or simplified zooming. The user can rapidly zoom any document by a double-thumb pinch or expand gesture on the SmartBar. In addition to the list, the new technology can carry out several customizable functions that are enabled by the company’s macro editor. Synaptics is providing up to five logical buttons that can work in tandem with its new capacitive touch sensing spacebar. Here, individual button can be programmed to execute repetitive desktop tasks or trigger macros for critical game controls.
