A new power-packed scooter in the form of Suzuki Swish 125 has been launched with an aim to capture the young urban market. Pitted against the likes of Mahindra Duro, Piaggio Vespa, Honda Active & Dio, the all new Suzuki Swish 125 is powered by a 125cc engine coupled with a CVT transmission & Telescopic Front Fork Suspension. Featuring a fuel tank capacity of 6 litres and a large under seat storage capacity of 20 litres, the Swish 125 is said to offer a mileage of ~50 kmpl on highway and ~40-42 kmpl on daily commute road. Available in 4 color variants Metallic Sonic Silver, Pearl Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black (YYB) and Candy Dark Cherry Red, the Suzuki Swish is priced in India at Rs. 56,482 (on-road Delhi). Let's find out the various features.

The scooter is adorned with multi-reflector lights and blue lens position lamps. The presence of smart features such as a dual trip meter, maintenance free battery, digital clock, steel fender, service reminder and 90/100 front & rear tubeless tyres, position the Swish 125 in the league of all the latest scooter brands.

The 4-stroke single cylinder engine on the Swish 125, delivers max power of 6.4 Kw @ 7000 rpm (8.58hp @ 7,000 rpm) and Max. Torque of 9.8Nm @ 5000 rpm (1.0kg-m @ 5,000 rpm).
As far as dimensions are concerned, the bike brings 1,780mm length, 650 mm width and 1,140mm height along side a wheel base of 1,250mm and Ground Clearance of 160mm.

That said, to see if the new scooter will be able to compete the ever popular Scooty Streak and Honda Activa, is a matter of whether it will pull the right chord in the minds of youngsters in India. Unlike the Honda Activa 125 there is no front disc brake as an optional extra on this one. Although Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd has only changed the lights in the design of the new Swish 125, there's not much of a change in the specifications.
