An eco car made of plywood and cardboard by a group of students from Aston University won this year’s Shell Eco-Design Award, and is raring to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon at the Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lumpur later this week to set new fuel efficiency standards among sustainable car designs. Along with the aforementioned quality, this eco car attracts special attention due to the materials used to make this car, which include cardboard, plywood and bio-resin infused with hessian fibres.

This hydrogen fuel cell car has been designed with a futuristic approach, aspiring to be the best ultra energy-efficient vehicle at the Shell Eco-marathon, an event which requires top notch design and scientific skills to build a vehicle which travels the farthest using just 1 KWh or 1 litre of fuel.
