Start, Stop, Lock & Unlock Your Hyundai Car With Your Android Wear Smartwatch

Hyundai has announced the launch of the smartwatch version of its Blue Link app which will let users control specific functions of their cars with the help of any Android Wear watch. The Hyundai Blue Link smartwatch app will work with first generation Blue Link equipped Hyundai models such as the 2012 Sonata and second generation models like the 2015 Genesis, Sonata and Azera. The smartwatch app has to be installed on an Android Wear smartwatch that is hooked to an Android smartphone with the help of Bluetooth. One of the most impressive things about Hyundai Blue Link app is that it allows you to control your car from anywhere in the US as long as the smartphone it is hooked up to has a working data connection.

With the help of the app, the owner of the car will be able to lock, unlock, start and even disengage the engine of the car. The app will help the user to locate the car in a crowded car park (GPS positioning) and flash the lights and honk the horn on command. Apart from tapping, the Android Wear user can bark voice commands too. Just like the smartphone app, the smartwatch version will alert the driver regarding forthcoming service and call up Hyundai support. LG representatives will be demonstrating the app on Samsung, Motorola, Sony and LG smartwatches. The app will be available for the public on the Google Play Android Wear section from the first quarter of 2015.

A smartwatch unlocking your car would surely amaze your friends but we think that it is quite unnecessary because it relies on the smartphone on which you have already installed the smartphone app that does the same things albeit on a bigger screen. We hope that when Google Android Auto To Debut In 2015 - An Unveiling At CES Might Be On Cards makes a debut things will get simpler.
