Spotify Updates Its Desktop Client

Spotify released an updated version of its desktop client for Mac and Windows PC on Friday, making the company’s jump onto the social bandwagon more obvious. With the new client, users can now start listening to, or create a radio station playing their choice of music, by clicking the “start playlist radio” or “start album radio” tab when they come across a likeable playlist or album. The update also features Instant Search, which offers brilliant search and navigation options for enhanced results.

Bloggers can directly post an album or playlist to their Tumblr blogs, or to other websites with the recently introduced Play button for web which generates embeddable HTML codes supporting easy music sharing. Simply right click on a track, album or playlist to select the “copy embed code” option. To share music on Twitter, you’ll be provided with shortened spoti.fi links.

Since its overwhelming US launch, Spotify has been busy developing the music streaming service, first for the iPad, and of late for the updated desktop version. If Spotify is available in your country, you can download the new client Sidan hittades inte – Spotify.
