Sound-Word Index To Help People Express Online Better

If you’ve ever felt the loss of words or emotions while expressing yourself through texts online, things could be very different for you in the coming days. Two Royal College of Art graduates Blanche de Lasa and Stina Gromark are working on ‘Sound-Word Index’, a unique dictionary of sorts featuring attractive typography and emoticons along with the meanings, to help people understand letter repetitions and onomatopoeia found on the internet to use it appropriately in conversations or respond to one. Crowdsourcing is an important aspect of the project and involves proper organization of the data to be used as a reference library.

The duo expects ‘Sound-Word Index’ to simplify digital communication, by offering interesting facets to the project, like finding out how strings of text like ’!!!’ might sound in real life. Check out #-Link-Snipped-# and let us know what you think of this crowdsourced project.
