Sony Xperia Z2 And Xperia Z2 Tablet Launched At MWC 2014
As the MWC 2014 is going on in full swing, Sony just announced its new flagship device the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet.
Sony Xperia Z2 features a 5.2” full HD Triluminos display with X-Reality for mobile picture engine. Z2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) quad-core chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz, Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB RAM. Internal memory is 16GB and is expandable via microSD card slot. It runs on Android KitKat 4.4 at launch. The camera is same as that of Xperia Z1 which is 20.7MP with 1/2.3” sensor, 27mm G Lens and f/2.0 aperture but has some added features. The camera can now record 4K videos at 30fps. Many new effects are added including Timeshift which can record 720p video at 30fps, Background defocus and dedicated mode for Vines. A 2.2MP (1080p) front camera is also present.
The battery included is a 3000mAh which Sony says can provide talk time up to 830 hours and standby up to 880 hours. Also, the phone isIP58 certified - dust proof and water resistant over 1 meter and 30 minutes. The Z2 will be launched in March with a price tag of €600 and will be available in white, black and purple color options.

The Xperia Z2 tablet flaunts a 10.1” full HD display with Sony's latest display technologies - Triluminos display with live color LED plus X-Reality mobile picture engine. Sony says its the worlds slimmest tablet with a thickness of just 6.4mm and weighs less than 440 grams. Like the Xperia Z tablet, Z2 tablet is also water and dust resistant, with scratch-proof glass panels. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz, Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB RAM. Internal memory is 16GB and is expandable via microSD card slot.
Z2 tablet sports a rear 8.1MP camera with Exmor RS sensor and 2.2MP front camera. Both the cameras can record 1080p videos. HDR mode is also included. The tablet runs on 6000mAh battery. The Xperia Z2 tablet will be available in two versions - Wi-Fi only and an LTE-enabled. Both the versions include NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, IR emitter and MHL 3.0 support. Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It will be available in market by March with color options as black and white. The pricing is not disclosed as of yet.
