Sony NGP is PSP2
Sony calls the next generation Play Station Portable the 'NGP' aka the Next Generation Portable. The next generation handheld gaming console revolves around the following 5 aspects - A great new interface, location based gaming & entertainment, social networking services connections, augmented reality. The NGP will be compatible with Sony Playstation Suite - a cross-platform software framework. The best thing about NGP is that it's backward compatible with PSP games also supports downloadable content from Sony Playstation Store.

The phone is powered with a Quad core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, OLED Display (960x544), two analog sticks on each side of the screen along with WiFi, 3G, GPS, rear touch-pad and gyroscope with accelerometer.

The storage type is not known yet but Sony has mentioned that it will use a new flash media. The UMDs will no longer be used in NGP. Sony demoed few popular game demos on Sony NGP including Killzone, Resistance, Little Big Planet, and Uncharted. The new GUI will be called 'LiveArea" and it's aimed at interactivity between social networking, multiplayer games without losing the progress on your ongoing tasks.
