Sony Electronics has launched a new ultra-portable camera called the α5100 (model ILCE-5100) which is ultra-lightweight and packs inside it superior image capturing capabilities. Being promoted as the speedy camera, the Sony A5100 comes with the Fast Hybrid AF system, which is the same as the one seen in Sony α6000 cam. The all new α5100 can acquire focus in just 0.07 seconds - that's something that the wild-life photographers among us would love to take note of. Apart from that, the 24.3 MP APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and a powerful BIONZ X processor makes it a worthy competitor for its segment. Priced at $550, the α5100 compact interchangeable lens camera will start selling in September 2014 in two colors - black and white. Those who want to combine this camera with a versatile 16-50mm motorized zoom lens, can do so for a total price of $700.
