Today's generation is gadget lovers and campuses are wireless network enabled, there is great need of charging spots all over the campus.These solar tables provide renewable source of energy for charging.

For helping students at university of California, Riverside, Thirteen Carrier Glass Green Infra Structure ConnecTables Solar Charging Stations have been installed to recharge electronic devices in 'green' way. Each Solar Table is a solitary solar power unit with 265 watt solar panel.This solar panel charges a battery that supports 120 volts outlet and 8 USB outlet.This solar panel can charge 150 mobiles a day.Batteries are replaceable with average life of 5 years.

Each unit costs approx. $11,500.

    It would be great if they have fixed it over the umbrella (Left corner of the image) which will provide shed during hot days & A light mode (CFL or something through that battery) beneath it during evening/night.

    Great initiative where someone may think that it was costly but on longer run, it would be very beneficial.
